Secure Your Load

Before coming to South Shore Waste Solutions, ensure that your load is secure. Failure to secure your load can cause traffic accidents, flat tires and roadside litter. Here are some tips:

• Ensure waste cannot move or shift during transport or sudden stops. Push and pull restrained waste to test for movement before transport. 
• When tarps and netting are used, ensure loose items such as small pieces cannot escape around the sides or through gaps in the trailer walls. 
• Wrap loads of asphalt shingles and drywall with a tarp on top, underneath and surrounding the sides. This prevents nails and screws from falling off during transport. 
• Nettings and tie downs are useful for restraining branches. 
• Always monitor your load while driving.
